Frequently Asked Questions
Many seem to think this is a bug in Screamer Radio, it is not. There are many reasons why displaying a song title may not be possible for a particular radio station.
Here are some possible reasons
- WMA doesn't send metadata for song titles
- The AAC-plugin used in Screamer Radio doesn't support song titles
- The radio station might not send metadata even if it's technically possible
Do you need to use a proxy? Check your browser settings to see if you use a proxy for browsing, if you do then enter that information in the Screamer Radio preferences.
No.
However, you can run Screamer Radio on Linux if you use WINE, however it's not officially supported and I wouldn't call it stable.
Sure, read this post in the forum.
Unfortunately some radio stations, like BBC Radio 1, use Real Audio. Due to licensing reasons and the amount of work it would require Screamer Radio does not support Real Audio at this time, ask your radio station to change to something better.
You might have to download and install the Microsoft WMA-codec to get WMA streams working.
For Windows XP / Server 2003 (Media Player 7.1 or later)
For Windows 98 / Millennium / 2000 (Media Player 7.1 or later)
For Media Player 6.4
Unfortunately this feature only works if the radio station transmits track information and Screamer Radio can receive that information. See above.
No. I don't have the time to do the necessary work since porting an application to a different operating system is a big project.
However, with a bit of technical expertise you can get it to work helpfully under WINE in Linux.
